Join Top-Class Educational Professional Development Fellow Dr. Salazar- Zamora as she discusses Continual Opportunities for Leaders to Learn. As a superintendent, Dr. Salazar has valued the development of relationships before rigor and grades. This series highlights the importance of relationships as foundational. The recent COVID-19 pandemic brought to light the importance of setting priorities which include clearly identifying what the priorities are during a crisis and then communicating those priorities with the school community. The series also describes how branding and marketing of the school provide opportunities to communicate the school “story” to the constituents they serve. Finally, Dr. Salazar-Zamora stresses the importance for social emotional learning support for teachers and how teachers impact students by addressing the social emotional competencies.
